Elisa Devlin

Elisa DevlinElisa Devlin is a dedicated Vinyasa Flow teacher who has a BA Degree in Maharishi Vedic Science. She draws upon her 9 year practice of Transcendental Meditation as a source of steadiness for her Yoga asana practice. The asanas are the external form, but its what is on the inside that really matters. Sometimes the body moves freely without obstruction and at other times it feels dense and heavy. Often its hard to ascertain whether its the mind which is sluggish or the physical body. When we practice Yoga in its myriad forms, we work with awareness and patience. We train both the mind and the body to be strong and flexible. When the two come together, then we have Union and this is Yoga. Elisa teaches Dynamic and Flow at Alchemy.

Luiz Veiga

Luiz VeigaLuiz Veiga believes in a practice which takes us back to the basics of yoga: simplicity and attention to detail. Spending three and a half years in Mysore studying with Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath Jois was a pivotal experience in the development of Luiz’s personal practice. He was touched by the practice of Ashtanga in such a way that it became a part of his being and shaped the way he sees life.

Subsequently, Luiz travelled to Thailand to study with Rolf Naujokat; and it was there, in 2005, that Luiz started to share his passion for yoga through teaching. Since then, he has been teaching in Indonesia, Thailand, London, Brazil and Italy, where he spent 2 years teaching Yin Yoga and Ashtanga for the UN in Rome.

Luiz leads his students through the flow of a Vinyasa practice with emphasis on Tristhana, the three places of attention or action: asana, Ujay breath and Dristhi. These three places are very important for Vinyasa practice, and cover three levels of purification in the body, nervous system and mind, and they are always performed in conjunction with each other. At Alchemy, Luiz teaches the weekly classes of Morning Mysore, Ashtanga Led, and Yin Yoga, and his classes and teaching style assist students to learn the series of asanas for simultaneously developing attention to pace, breathing, and the finer details of the practice.

Margherita Dal Pra

Margherita Dal PraMargherita Dal Pra teaches weekly Yoga Open class at Alchemy.

I took my first yoga class 17 years ago and didn’t realised that it signed the beginning of a total transformation and a radical change in my whole life. It was as if I had taken my first breath of fresh air and could finally relax into being me. My health, emotional well-being and my whole life took gradually a positive transformation. I explored various styles of yoga (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow). In 2003 I met Rod Stryker, who taught me the Parayoga® method and with whom I continue to study and find inspiration.

In 2008 I discovered the heart opening grace and therapeutics of Anusara Yoga. My philosophy is to inspire students, via the practice, via the breath, via the alignment, to better understand themselves and to support them in discovering who they really are. In my practical approach to yoga, its my belief that one of the keys to enlightenment is to “lighten up”, and having fun and to delight is always part of the process. With a sense of humour and commitment, I provide a safe place for students to explore, break boundaries and release layers of physical, emotional, and psychic weight.

Mark Kan

Mark KanMark Kan’s journey of self discovery began over 10 years ago after some time of feeling disconnected from the path he took as a visual artist. Mark’s quest for more knowledge of ancient science took him to India, training as Sivananda Yoga teacher in 2006. That same year Mark reached a milestone in this enriching journey through a first encounter with Dharma Mittra, bringing together the synthesis he was searching for in yoga practice and everyday life. This encounter soon took Mark to New York to study with his humble Guru. Mark teaches weekly Dharma Mittra classes, and he assures Alchemy that it will be a great honour to be able to share with you some of the teachings of a truly enlightened Master.

Rahoul Masrani

Rahoul MasraniRahoul Masrani teaches weekly Dynamic and Flow classes at Alchemy.

Having had the honour and privilege to study for a number of years under some of London’s most esteemed yoga teachers, including Alessia Avellino, Stewart Gilchrist and Rebecca Ffrench, I sought to deepen my practice. In early 2012, I successfully undertook a Yoga Alliance-accredited teacher training course with Yoga London, where I was able to develop a more holistic understanding of the science of yoga.

My classes incorporate all eight limbs of yoga, helping practitioners to move forward in their yogic journey. The practice will cultivate physical strength and mental balance through a powerful focus on the breath, eventually leading to a state of happiness and well-being. Discover your true Self and sweat your way to inner peace through a challenging asana practice!
