Siri Sadhana Kaur & ‘Hearts Call’
By admin 26/05/2011

Alchemy caught up with one of the Centre’s most prominent Kundalini figures, Siri Sadhana Kaur. It would seem that coming to this workshop will entertain you, yes, but also improve your health…

Alchemy: What kind of concerts have you been part of in the past?

Siri: “I’ve done a few in different contexts. I’ve done mantra workshops that run throughout the day that incorporate Kundalini Yoga. I mean, often I have played on my own but I always love playing with other musicians – it’s just so uplifting and inspirational to get that connection through playing.”

A: What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming workshop at Alchemy?

S: “I would say one thing, there is so much joy that one gets from singing and chanting in a group. You get that strong sense of community in a group. That sense of togetherness, you know? Being in that vibration where you can connect is so uplifting.

“Sharing the teachings of Kundalini Yoga through Mantra is a real blessing and a gift.”

A: Why should people come and see you?

S: “Through meditation and mantra we can really get a deep connection to truth of self. Just anatomically by being with the breath, it has huge positive effects on your lung capacity, heart and endorphins. You’re doing yourself good on a physical level.

“There is a saying: ‘your head is to give and your heart is to live by’ – through coming to a workshop like this metaphysically you allow your consciousness to drop out of the fast pace of city life and come into heart centred space, which serves you and everyone you come in contact with.”

Currently mentoreeing with the Karam Kriya School she is studying shabds, and collaborating on her forthcoming Sadhana CD ‘Song of soul’ due to be released soon. Alchemy welcomes Siri and friends for their concert ‘Hearts Call’ on June 10th.
